INNOVATIVE SKATEBOARD

The idea for the Skateboard 360 came to me in the early 2000s. I wanted to invent a snowboard that would work in the summer, so I presented the 360 as a thesis at the Free University of Bolzano in 2005. In 2006 he won the Volvo Sport Design Award. Finally, the project is part of the book “Design from the Alps 1920-2020”: honorable mention at the Compasso d’Oro ADI-Design XXVII.

The 360 is the very first skateboard to use orbit wheels as a means of transportation.

The 360 is an innovative skateboard designed for all those who live the sport with passion, freedom, energy, madness and action. The inspiration came from sports such as surfing, snowboarding and skateboarding; also, the use of the 360 is simple and intuitive: in fact, with simple movements of the body, it is possible to pilot the object on various surfaces.

Design from the Alps: innovative skateboard

The sensations you get from using the 360 are similar to those you can get from using a skateboard, surfboard or snowboard. In fact, the natural position that is assumed by inserting the feet inside the wheels make the object absolutely unique. It is possible to use it downhill: because it is equipped with a braking system, or on the flat or in skate-parks to create evolutions. Where the only limit is represented by our imagination. In just a few seconds, the 360 can be adapted to the physical characteristics of the user: it is possible to vary the inclination of the support base for the feet, the tires, the pressure of the tires, the flexibility and the distance between the two orbital wheels. The object is created using steel, aluminum and composite material that make it resistant to impacts and extremely light.
